This Privacy Policy explains how TLTek ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the FastSpend mobile application (the "App"). FastSpend is an expense-tracking app designed to be local-first: by default, the financial data you enter stays on your device. Some optional features described below involve sending data to cloud services.
1. Who we are
The App is provided by TLTek. For any privacy question or request, contact us at tl.tek5392@gmail.com.
Data controller: Tuan Le, 209, 355 Street, Tan An Hoi Commune, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
2. Information we process
2.1 Data you create in the App (stored on your device)
- Transactions — amounts, currency, category, optional notes, and date/time.
- Categories — names, icons, colors, and ordering.
- Budgets — monthly limits per category.
- Preferences — currency, language, and similar settings.
By default this data is stored only in a local database on your device and is not transmitted to us or to any third party.
2.2 Account data (only if you sign in)
Signing in with Google (via Firebase Authentication) is optional and is required only to use Cloud Backup (Section 2.3) or the AI Assistant (Section 2.4). When you sign in, we process the account information Google provides:
- Email address
- Display name
- Profile photo URL
- A Firebase user identifier (UID)
2.3 Synced data (only if you enable Cloud Backup)
When Cloud Backup is on, the data in Section 2.1 (transactions, categories, and budgets) is
copied to Google Cloud Firestore under your account, at the path
users/{your-id}/…. Security rules restrict this data so that only your
signed-in account can read or write it. We, as operators, do not access the contents of
your synced records in the ordinary course of providing the service.
2.4 AI Assistant (only if you use it)
The AI Assistant is an optional feature that generates budgeting insights for a selected month. When you tap Generate, the App sends an aggregated, summarized snapshot of that month's spending to our backend, which forwards it to our AI provider (OpenAI) to produce the advice text. The snapshot contains only:
- The month, currency, and app language.
- Total spend, total income, and net for the month.
- Category names and their totals, and (where set) per-category budget limits.
- Month-over-month spend comparison and simple pace/projection figures.
We do not send your individual transactions, notes, account details, or any directly identifying information to the AI provider. The generated advice is stored on your device and, if Cloud Backup is on, synced under your account. OpenAI processes the request to return a result and, under its API terms, does not use API-submitted data to train its models.
2.5 Purchases
FastSpend offers optional in-app purchases (a one-time Premium unlock and consumable AI credit packs) processed by Google Play Billing. Google handles the payment; we do not receive your payment-card details. We process a record of your entitlement and remaining AI credit balance so we can unlock the features you bought.
2.6 Analytics and crash diagnostics
We use Firebase Analytics to understand aggregate, non-identifying feature usage and Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash and diagnostic reports so we can fix bugs. These may include device and app information (for example device model, OS version, app version) and, for crashes, technical logs. We also use Firebase App Check to protect our backend from abuse. This data is used to operate and improve the App, not for advertising.
2.7 What we do not collect
- No advertising and no use of your data for advertising or profiling.
- No payment-card or banking-login details.
- No access to your bank accounts, SMS messages, or receipts.
- Your individual transactions and notes are never sent to the AI provider.
3. Device permissions
| Permission | Why it is used |
|---|---|
| Internet | To sync your data to the cloud when Cloud Backup is enabled. |
| Notifications | To show budget alerts and sync status. |
| Foreground service / data sync | To complete a cloud sync reliably in the background. |
4. How we use information
- To provide core expense-tracking features on your device.
- To authenticate you and back up / sync your data across your devices when you enable Cloud Backup.
- To generate spending insights when you use the AI Assistant.
- To unlock and manage in-app purchases (Premium and AI credits).
- To understand aggregate usage and diagnose crashes, and to protect our backend from abuse.
- To send budget and sync notifications you have enabled.
- To respond to your support requests.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
5. Service providers
We rely on the following providers, each of which processes data on our behalf and under its own terms:
- Google Firebase (Google LLC) — Authentication, Cloud Firestore (synced data), Analytics, Crashlytics, App Check, and Cloud Functions (which host the AI Assistant backend). See the Firebase Privacy and Security information and the Google Privacy Policy.
- Google Play Billing (Google LLC) — processes in-app purchases.
- OpenAI (OpenAI, L.L.C.) — receives the aggregated monthly spending summary described in Section 2.4 to generate AI Assistant insights. See the OpenAI Privacy Policy.
6. Data retention and deletion
- Local data remains on your device until you delete it in the App or uninstall the App.
- Synced data remains in Firestore until you delete it; deletions you make are propagated to the cloud and to your other devices on the next sync.
- AI advice that you generate is stored like your other data (on your device, and synced when Cloud Backup is on) and is removed when you delete your data or account.
- Delete your account from within the App to erase your account and its associated cloud data (including synced records and AI advice). You can also request deletion by email.
- Signing out stops syncing and keeps your local data on the device.
- To request deletion of your account and any associated cloud data, email tl.tek5392@gmail.com.
For step-by-step instructions and details of what is deleted or kept, see Delete your data.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or similar laws), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can:
- Access and edit your data directly in the App.
- Export your transactions to a CSV file using the in-App export feature.
- Delete data in the App, or request deletion by contacting us.
To exercise any right, contact tl.tek5392@gmail.com.
8. Data security
Synced data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored within Google's infrastructure, protected by access rules that limit each record to its owner. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
9. International transfers
If you enable Cloud Backup, your data may be processed and stored by Google in data centers located outside your country of residence. Where required, such transfers are carried out under appropriate safeguards.
10. Children's privacy
FastSpend is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the App. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
